In this piece, 257 images of famous immigrants come together to form the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of hope to people migrating to the United States from foreign lands. Included are images of famous immigrants: actors, singers, performers, Nobel Prize winners, authors, athletes, artists, models, journalists, etc. Each individual was researched to make sure that they, as well as both of their parents, were not born in the United States. In addition to these images, the background is comprised of permanent residency cards of everyday people, juxtaposing the famous few from the anonymous many who have crossed our shores.
